Dodgers News: Mookie Betts is Ridiculously Locked In Right Now

This is what the most valuable player looks like.

If you're not watching Mookie Betts at the plate these days, you're missing something special. The Dodgers utility man / All-Star right fielder is on an absolutely elite tear at the plate and is firmly putting himself at the top of the National League MVP races with his performance.

With 5 hits in 5 at-bats in game two of LA's three game series with the Guardians, Betts raised his season batting average to .308, his highest this late in the season since his AL MVP season in 2018.

It was the second 5 hit game of his career.

What makes this most recent run even more mindblowing is that Mookie has made an out in just 2 of his last 12 plate appearances.

Here's what that looks like.

  1. Home run
  2. Home run
  3. Lineout
  4. Single
  5. Walk
  6. Double
  7. Strikeout
  8. Single
  9. Single
  10. Single
  11. Single
  12. Double

His 1.006 OPS leads the National League and is behind only Shohei Ohtani at the top of the baseball leaderboard.

Mookie's hot streak comes at a great time for him personally as he gears up to make his first return to Boston this weekend.
