Walker Buehler is on his way back from his second Tommy John surgery in his career. He's missed the entire season so far, but he's set a goal to be back by the first of September.

He took a big step in that direction on Friday.

The 2x All-Star took his talents to the Titleist Performance Institute, yes that Titleist, to use motion capture technology, along with other innovations at the facility to assess where he's at in his recovery from his latest elbow surgery.

Assistant pitching coach Connor McGuiness seemed pleased that Walker was there and said he just looks like himself again.

“He looks like Walker...He’s been talking with some of those TPI guys,” McGuiness said. “Walker’s got a huge growth mindset. He loves learning. He wants to just get as much information as he possibly can. We’re always comfortable with anyone seeking out other info and whatnot. He has a great filter. It’s just kind of picking and choosing a little of this, a little of that, getting another motion capture on him, kind of see where he’s at.”

The Dodgers could really use him in the rotation right about now, but with the addition of Ryan Pepiot, the Dodgers seem to be on the right track in bringing back key pieces right before the most important part of the season.

It seems like Buehler isn't taking any days off in his recovery either, he posted this at the end of July:

With the new additions at the deadline, like Joe Kelly and Ryan Yarbrough, the bullpen got the help it desperately needed.

Also, as it turns out, the starting rotation didn't need a big name like Jack Flaherty or Lucas Giolito at the deadline because if everything goes to plan, their dominant three-headed monster of a rotation with Kershaw, Urias and Buehler will all be back in time to win those 11 games in October, and bring home a championship.
