Dodgers: One Time Walk Off Hero Signs with AL East Club

The veteran infielder and outfielder has played across multiple MLB teams including the  Giants, Rockies, Dodgers, Braves and Rangers.

The Tampa Bay Rays have added another versatile player to their roster with the signing of Charlie Culberson to a minor-league contract with an invitation to big-league spring training.

Culberson, a veteran infielder and outfielder, has spent time with several Major League Baseball teams, including the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and Texas Rangers. He's known for his ability to play several positions, which is a plus for any team.

The 33-year-old has had a solid career thus far, hitting .248 with 30 homers and 145 RBIs over portions of the past 10 seasons. In 15 games for the Dodgers, he hit .154 with two hits in 13 at-bats. Despite the relatively modest offensive numbers, Culberson is considered a reliable defender with a strong arm, making him a valuable asset off the bench.

The Rays are always looking to improve their roster and will be able to see how Culberson performs beginning at spring training. With his experience, Culberson could provide depth at multiple positions, especially at third base.

Overall, the signing of Culberson is a low-risk, high-reward move for the Tampa Bay Rays. The veteran infielder/outfielder could prove to be an important piece for the team as they look to build on their success from recent seasons.

With the invitation to big-league spring training, Culberson has a chance to show what he can bring to the team, and fans will be eager to see how he fits into the Rays' plans for the upcoming season.
