Dodgers Roster News: Former LA Pitcher Back With the Team For a Third Time

This is his third stint with the Dodgers in his career.

The Dodgers have made another minor move early in free agency. RHP Jake Reed, who has been with the Dodgers on two separate occasions, is officially back for round three. The team announced on Friday that they claimed him off waivers from the Boston Red Sox.

Reed made five appearances for the Dodgers in 2022, to the tune of a 1.93 ERA. He allowed one earned run across 4.2 innings, his biggest moment of the season coming when he notched his first career save against his former team.

Reed has bounced around the league since he made his debut in 2021. He's played for the Dodgers twice, the Mets twice and the Orioles, and will now get a third opportunity with LA.

For what it's worth, he was much better with the Dodgers than he was with the Mets and Orioles in 2022. As a member of the Mets, he allowed eight earned runs in 6.1 innings for an ERA of 11.37. And with the Orioles, he gave up four earned runs in 5.2 innings for an ERA of 6.35.
