Dodgers top pitching prospect RHP Bobby Miller is hanging out with the big league squad this spring training. However, according to manager Dave Roberts, he won't be pitching in a Cactus League game.

It's a little sad to know Miller won't be going this spring, as he has electric stuff that should have Dodger fans very excited about his future. However, Roberts says he has Miller on a slower ramp-up, in part because he had a hugely increased workload last season (per Jack Harris).

Miller is among the many candidates in the Dodgers farm system who could make their big league debuts this season. However, it seems that he may be a little further behind some of the other ones, especially because he isn't getting into a spring game this season.

Last year between Double-A and Triple-A, Miller had a 4.25 ERA. However, he was much better in his four starts at Triple-A, going 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA.

The Dodgers clearly plan on slowly bring Miller up, and you can't blame them. They have more than enough talent at the big league level, and a ton of young players who seem slightly more ready than Miller right now.

I still expect Miller to make his debut this season, but don't be surprised if it's not much later in the year. But either way, he has the potential to be a star in this league whenever the time comes — that time just may not be as soon as many had hoped.
