The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting set for game one of a four-game set with the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The Dodgers are sending RHP Michael Grove to the mound, and were expecting to face off against Cubs RHP Jameson Taillon. However, before the game, things changed.

Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reported that the Cubs were placing Taillon on the 15-day injured list with a "mild to moderate" left groin strain, meaning he won't be starting against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Instead, the Cubs are calling up RHP Javier Assad from Triple-A to make the start against the Dodgers.

Taillon started for the Cubs against the Dodgers this past Saturday when LA won on a walk-off two-run single by David Peralta. Taillon dominated the Dodgers in that game, pitching five shutout innings and allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Unfortunately for the Cubs, he won't get to face the Dodgers again. Instead it will be Assad, who has pitched 4.1 innings across two appearances at the MLB level this season, and has a 12.46 ERA. He made one start in Triple-A, going 2.2 innings and allowing two runs, for an ERA of 6.75.

This will be Assad's first time facing the Dodgers in his career.
