We've got a throwback old friend alert in the MLB headlines. And it shows just how desperate the Mets are to not be a third place team. One time Dodgers infielder Tyler White is on the move, going from the Minnesota Twins minor league system to the Mets minor league system.

Steve Adams of MLBTradeRumors.com reported the news via New York's transaction log.

Going back to where this matters even a little, White came to the Dodgers in a 2019 trade with the Houston Astros (before everyone knew about the sign stealing scandal) and he struggled. He had just 2 hits in 22 at-bats and was put on the injured list for reasons. Or a "right trap strain" and they buried him there for the rest of the season.

He eventually ended up leaving the Dodgers during the pandemic shutdown and signed with SK Wyverns in Korea's KBO league where he flamed out in just 9 games.

White has bounced around the minor leagues over the last few years, spending time in the Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and Minnesota Twins organizations.

In parts of 4 MLB seasons, he owns a .236/.316/.409 slash line with 26 home runs and 103 runs batted in over 257 games. At age 32, his best days in baseball are well behind him.
