Former Dodgers Infielder Traded to Twins

Former Dodger and Cincinnati Red Kyle Farmer is now a Twin

A trade has gone down, and it involves a former Dodger. The Cincinnati Reds have sent infielder Kyle Farmer to the Minnesota Twins, but the trade details have not been released.

Farmer signed with the Dodgers in 2013. He was a part of their minor-league affiliates up until 2017, when he was assigned to the Dodgers and optioned and assigned from time to time throughout the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

In the winter of 2018, the Dodgers sent Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Alex Wood, and Kyle Farmer to the Reds in a seven-player trade. The Dodgers landed with infielder Jeter Downs and pitchers Josiah Gray and Homer Bailey (Thank you to Downs for helping us land Mookie).

Many may remember Farmer from a July game in 2017. In his first-ever major league AB, he hit a walk-off two-run double against the San Francisco Giants in the bottom of the 11th, which gave the Dodgers a 3-2 win.

Besides that, Kyle was an average to below-average player with the Dodgers.

The 32-year-old is a career .254 average with 39 home runs, 183 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases with a .704 OPS in his six-year career.

Once a Dodger, always a Dodger. Good luck to Kyle Farmer in Minnesota, and we wish him the best.
