Insider Predicts Former Dodgers MVP Cody Bellinger Surprisingly Signs in AL West

Will Bellinger head back West?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to take over the MLB offseason and win it in a big way. It's no secret the Boys in Blue will look to acquire big-name talents to help them get over the hump and win title No. 8.

However, the other 29 teams will try and do the same, and there are a ton of high-end players that can help any MLB team, including former Dodgers draft pick, All-Star and MVP outfielder Cody Bellinger.

Bellinger's 2023 season was his first not in Dodger blue, which may remain the case after this offseason. The lefty slugger is set for a mega contract, and although many teams are in the hunt for his talent, MLB insider Matt Vasgersian believes the Seattle Mariners will be the team to secure his talents.

According to MLB expert Mike Petriello, Bellinger is projected to receive a deal between five to eight years worth $150-$200 million. That is a ton of dough, but it is absolutely earned. In 2023, a season after being non-tendered by LA, he had a resurgent season.

Belli had his highest OPS since his MVP season with a .881 OPS while recording a .307 batting average. He also hit 26 out of the park while driving in 97 runs in 130 games in 2023.

If the Mariners were to add the likes of Cody to their lineup, it would make them serious contenders to knock off AL West contenders, the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers. It would definitely make the Mariners a better team, with much more pop.

We'll see where Belli lands, but no matter what, we'll always cheer for our former MVP.
