Latest Odds to Sign Shohei Ohtani Heavily Favor Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani. Ever heard of that guy before?
Well, if you haven;t lived under a rock for the past few years, you know his name and how the Los Angeles Dodgers have been linked to him for quite a while now.
Ohtani is a generational talent, and the possibility of the Boys in Blue adding him is very realistic. Almost every odds maker has the Dodgers in on Shohei;,however, just because that's the case doesn't mean others will go away.
The other 29 teams in the league will be in on Shohei if they have the means, so it's hard to trust random oddsmakers.
That's why MLB insider for the NY Post, Jon Heyman, created his own odds board on Ohtani's next team, and he listed the Dodgers tied for first between them, the Texas Rangers and the hated San Francisco Giants.
T1. Dodgers: The favorite forever has the money, is the most consistent winner and cleared payroll space last winter. The negatives are that they already are close to selling out and need a pitcher more than a hitter. Odds: 6-1.
Following the Dodgers are the New York Mets, 8-1 odds, Boston Red Sox, 10-1 odds, Los Angeles Angels, 15-1 odds, and Chicago Cubs, 20-1 odds, to name a few.
The race will be intense as the biggest name in the sport is free to choose wherever he wants to go. It will be an offseason like no other, and we'll see how aggressive LA will be and if they can grab the most coveted free agent this sport will ever see.
