The Dodgers lost the game and lost Max Muncy on Sunday. The slugger ran to second base gingerly while advancing on a Tampa Bay error. He was checked on by Dave Roberts and a trainer but stayed in the game and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly.  However, he was replaced by Chris Taylor on defense the next inning.

After the game, Roberts and Muncy had updates on the injury which the infielder described as tightness.

Roberts took the smart route and pulled Max from the game, but his presence was felt later in the contest. Muncy was 1-2 in the game with his 17th home run of the season and 2 runs scored. His spot in the order came up a few times in key scoring opportunities.

He'll undergo an MRI in LA on Monday.

If Muncy has to miss a game or three, Chris Taylor will likely take down the lion's share of time at third base. It doesn't seem likely to be an IL situation, but if the team decides to be extra cautious, we could see Michael Busch return from Triple-A. Notably, he's been in a slump since returning to Oklahoma City, hitting just .189 over 14 games.
