Mookie Betts Excited For 'Fireworks' From Star-Powered Dodgers Lineup

The Dodgers' top 3 hitters are about to put the league on notice.

The hype for the 2024 Dodgers is at an all-time high. The success of this team, however, starts at the top with Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and their incumbent leadoff hitter, Mookie Betts

The Dodgers will go as far as these three take them; given their talent, they should keep playing into November. No team's top three hitters can match the Dodgers', and some extraordinary things will take place when all three step into the batter's box.

The excitement among fans is palpable; even Betts looks forward to it. In a recent interview with SportsNet LA John Hartung, Betts said he expects 'fireworks' from the top three hitters in the Dodgers' lineup.

There's a lot of potential there. I mean, it should be a lot of fun. Again we gotta go play, make sure we take care of our business and we'll see kind of the fireworks that happen. But I'm super excited just to see the legend of Shohei up close and personal.

The trio of Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman, whatever order they line up, will be dangerous.

In 2023, Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman combined for a .315 average, 248 extra-base hits, 112 home runs, 304 RBIs, and a 1.006 OPS. On top of that, they have a combined four MVP awards, 17 All-Star appearances, and 11 Silver Slugger awards.

If these three merely maintain their 2023 pace — barring injury, it's not unrealistic — the Dodgers' pitching staff will enjoy greater run support than they enjoyed last year.

In their three-game National League Division Series loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks last October, the Dodgers scored a total of six runs. For now, the Dodgers have three big reasons to hope they will score more this coming October.
