The series in Tampa Bay didn't turn out the way the Dodgers hoped, losing two of three games to wrap up the road trip, but there was one cool moment for a player who saw it as something of a homecoming.

David Peralta played 41 games for the Rays last season after a trade deadline deal with the Diamondbacks. While he was with the Rays, he hit a couple significant career milestones and the organization honored him with a nice gift. The club thoughtfully presented him with the scorecard from his 1,000th career game. It was elegantly framed.

Rays reporter Ryan Bass shared the news on Twitter.

Before joining the Rays, Peralta had spent the first 961 games of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Also with Tampa, he hit collected the 1,000th hit of his career after getting the first 960  base knocks with Arizona.

Now, with the Dodgers, he has set his sights on winning his first-ever World Series championship so he can add a ring to his career accomplishments.

Although the current season hasn't unfolded as smoothly as Peralta had hoped, with a batting average of just .218 and an OPS below .600, he has shown improvement in May. In this month, his batting average has climbed to .283, accompanied by an OPS just below .800 at .792.

Peralta signed a $6.5 million deal with the Dodgers during the offseason.
