Report: Dave Roberts Reveals Yoshinobu Yamamoto's Likely Dodgers Debut Date

We could see the debut of the Japanese sensation this upcoming week.

The debut of Los Angeles Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto could be approaching as quickly as this upcoming week.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke to the media, including Dodgers beat writer from the L.A. Times Jack Harris and OC Register Bill Plunkett, saying Wednesday is likely the day Yamamoto makes his debut on the mound.

The Dodgers will take on the World Series champions, the Texas Rangers, on Wednesday.

Roberts also told Harris that the Dodgers' newest superstar, Shohei Ohtani, will make his Cactus League debut on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox.

Yamamoto and Ohtani's debuts are highly anticipated. Outside of live batting practice, we have yet to see these two Japanese superstars play any baseball while donning the Dodger blue.

These two are arguably L.A.'s best players, which says a lot when you have a team with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Max Muncy and Tyler Glasnow.

We know what Ohtani will bring to the team since we've seen him play before, but we can't say the same for Yamamoto. He's still the mystery player from overseas.

He has the potential to be a top pitcher in this league, and he's certainly paid like it, but he has yet to throw one pitch in the major leagues.

The anticipation is palpable. If he's anything like what the Dodgers paid him to be, then L.A. has themselves a special player. We can't wait to see how he looks on Wednesday if he pitches.
