Watch Dodgers Slugger Homer on His First Cactus League Pitch of 2024

It's an oppo taco to open spring for Freddie!

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman launched an opposite-field home run in the first inning against the San Diego Padres on Friday at Camelback Ranch.

Freeman dumped an outside fastball from right-handed pitcher Jhony Brito over the left-center field wall on the first pitch he saw to give the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead.

Will Smith and Max Muncy followed him with two loud out of their own. Smith flew out to centerfield and then Muncy flew out to the warning track in left-center.

Freeman is hoping to build on a solid 2023 when he slashed .331/.410/.977 with 29 home runs and 102 runs batted in.

The Dodgers are looking to win back-to-back games against the San Diego Padres, their first regular season opponent, in their home-and-home series to kick off Cactus League play.
