Watch Shohei Ohtani Put on a Show in First Live Batting Practice With Dodgers

Ohtani crushed a home run to center field in his first showing.

Shohei Ohtani finally hit during live batting practice after almost a week of speculation that he would be doing so. He finally stepped up to the plate and put on a show for everyone watching.

He faced off against relievers Blake Treinen, Ryan Brasier and J.P Feyereisen on Monday. Each of them presented challenges for him, but Ohtani made sure to make this a batting practice to remember.

In his at-bat against Feyereisen, Ohtani figured things out. He crushed a home run to center field.

You can hear those watching cheer after he hits the home run in this video provided by the Dodgers social media account.

Ohtani made sure to get his hitting down before crushing the home run, but this is a great sign for the Dodgers. While he recovers from his torn UCL, he will be taking things easy, but this is positive news in his recovery.

He has already been ruled out of the team's Cactus League opener later this week against the San Diego Padres, but Ohtani seems close to being able to play in-game action. Fans will need to wait a little longer and just make do with batting practice videos for now.
