The Dodgers fell to the Yankees on a final of 4-1. All the offense came late in the game after LA's new weapon Bobby Miller was removed by Dave Roberts. Miller threw 6 shutout innings against New York and didn't even allow a hit until there were 2 out in the 5th inning. He allowed just three baserunners and struck out 7, needing just 86 pitches over his 6 innings.

Bobby was the real deal.

After the game, the rookie right-hander earned the praise of Yankees' manager Aaron Boone who felt the budding star was as good as advertised.

Through his first three starts, Miller has a 1.03 ERA with 16 punchouts and 4 walks -- 2 of those came today. Before he was called up from Triple-A, the Dodgers weren't overly certain he was ready for prime time, but on Sunday the 24-year-old put any doubt to rest.

“Man, he’s really impressed,” Roberts said. “I can’t say enough about what Bobby’s done for us.”

Miller pitched well enough to earn his third win in as many starts but the Dodgers didn't play their cleanest of the season by any means. And New York starter Domingo German stimied the LA offense for 7 brilliant innings of his own.

The rookie will start next in Philadelphia which should be another big test in his young career. Philly fans are notorious for being rather unpleasant to visiting players; pitchers in particular with the bullpen being painfully close to the crowd in the stands.
