Friday started off with mild and comfortable temperatures across Cleveland, Ohio. But the same couldn't be said about how the day finished.

As storms and rain moved into Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Guardians series opener against the Miami Marlins was put in jeopardy, until it was officially postponed.

The Guardians and Marlins will now play a traditional doubleheader on Saturday, April 22 with the games starting at 3:30.

Cleveland has been pretty lucky with the weather so far this season after the first month of the 2022 season was full of delays and postponements. However, they will now play a second doubleheader in a week after they had a game postponed in Detroit which could create some challenges for the pitching staff.

Zach Plesac was scheduled to be Cleveland's starter on Friday, but plans had to be adjusted a little bit with the doubleheader. The Guardians' new plans for the series are:

  • Shane Bieber - Saturday Game One
  • Plesac - Saturday Game Two
  • Logan Allen - Sunday

Thankfully, it does still appear the team is set on calling up Allen, which could've been put in

Fans who had tickets to Friday night's game can exchange their tickets for one of 39 other game options which included the doubleheader on Saturday.
