The Cleveland Guardians are finally turning to their young-talented pitching as they are reportedly set to promote Logan Allen to make his MLB debut this Sunday against the Miami Marlins. This move does appear to be weather dependent though.

No, this is not the same Logan Allen that began the season with the team in 2022. However, it is confusing because they are both left-handed pitchers, but that Logan Allen is no longer with the team and is in the Rockies' organization.

The Logan Allen that Cleveland plans to call up has been lights out in the Minors and his promotion has been a long time coming.

Allen was the 56th overall pick in the 2020 draft and quickly climbed up Cleveland's organization to get where he's at. Allen has made three starts this season at Triple-A posting an ERA of 1.26 with 20 strikeouts in 14.1 innings of work.

The Guardians' eighth-ranked overall prospect by MLB.com is also a southpaw which gives the team a different look in the rotation. They currently have just righties and it's been a while since they've had a dominant left-handed pitcher in the starting five.

It's no secret that Cleveland's rotation caught the injury bug early this season and they've been searching for help ever since. Triston McKenzie is still a ways off from pitching and Aaron Civale has also been sidelined.

Luckily, the Guardians have a history of developing pitchers and have a number of young prospects that are ready to contribute at the Big League. Allen is one of those guys!
