Three Young Pitchers Stand Out On List Of Top 30 Phillies' Prospects

There are three pitchers to keep an eye on when it comes to the Phillies' top prospects.

Andrew Painter, who’s expected to start for the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, is ranked No. 1 in the latest list of their top 30 prospects via MLB Pipeline.

Painter is No. 6 overall in Major League Baseball.

Right-hander Mick Abel is ranked second and No. 48 overall.

Coming in third is right-hander Griff McGarry followed by outfielder Justin Crawford at No. 4 and second baseman Hao-Yu Lee at No. 5.

Amazingly, at the start of the 2022 season, Abel was the top pitching prospect in the system and Painter wasn’t on the Top 100 yet.

Other prospects to watch could include first baseman/outfielder Carlos De La Cruz (No. 9), outfielder Simon Muzziotti (No. 10), pitcher Andrew Baker (No. 17), shortstop Jesus Caba (No. 23), pitcher Francisco Morales (No. 24) and pitcher Jaydenn Estanista (No. 27).
