NBA G League Announces Rookie of the Year Winner, Runner-Ups

In this story:
The 2025-26 NBA G League season is wrapping up.
The postseason kicked off on March 31, with 16 teams competing for a title. As the playoffs continue, the G League has started to announced its award winners for the season, which featured a few members of the 2025 NBA Draft class.
Undrafted rookie and Lakers' two-way guard Chris Mañon finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting, while No. 39 overall pick and Raptors' two-way guard Alijah Martin finished third.
Martin also claimed the runner-up spot for the G League's Rookie of the Year award after a strong campaign with the Raptors 905.
San Diego Clippers guard Sean Pedulla beat out Martin to win the Rookie of the Year. Like Mañon, Pedulla went undrafted in 2025, but earned a two-way contract. Pedulla begin the season with the Rip City Remix, Portland's G League affiliate, before inking a deal with LA.
In 28 G League games with the Remix and Clippers, the 23-year-old averaged 23.6 points, 6.7 assists, 5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 44.3% from the field, 36.9% from 3-point range and 84.5% from the free throw line.

Pedulla also appeared in four games for the LA Clippers, averaging 3.3 points and an assist across 5.8 minutes per contest.
The Oklahoma City-area product began his college career at Virginia Tech before spending his final season at Mississippi. Pedulla's size and age were likely significant factors in the 6-foot-1 guard going undrafted, but the San Diego standout appears to have found a home with an NBA organization.
Pedulla likely won't be a significant factor in the rest of LA's season, but could be a solid depth guard for the Clippers in the coming seasons, especially if he develops into a more consistent shooter.
Martin has also had a strong season in the G League, averaging 18.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc. The former Florida guard and 2025 national champion has appeared in 19 games for Toronto this season, tallying 6.4 minutes per contest.
Norchad Omier, another first-year player who went undrafted in 2025, finished third in Rookie of the Year voting. Omier began his season with the Cleveland Charge, but joined the San Diego Lakers after signing a two-way deal with the LA Clippers, similar to Pedulla.
In 27 G League games, Omier notched 19.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 58.9% from the field, 31.1% from deep and 81.2% from the free throw line.
