Your Los Angeles Chargers seem to be in very different financial situations every offseason. In 2022, the Bolts' front office had a ton of freedom as they were able to hand out money very comfortably to J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack with change left over.

However, then you take a look at their most recent offseason and they had to restructure certain contracts so that they'd be able to have $19 million heading into free agency. No massive stars were added to their roster but that was not on their to-do list. Eric Kendricks was brought in to soften the blow of Drue Tranquill leaving.

Then you have to factor in Justin Herbert, who is bound to get a huge contract on par with the ones that Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts received in the past couple of months. LA did not budge when it came to handing over an extension to Austin Ekeler though, not even when he requested a trade and in my opinion, that shows how careful they are being with their cap space right now.

Updated looks at the current cap space amount for every NFL team has been released and to no surprise, your Chargers sit around the middle of the pack at about $12 million.

Even while they have been trying to improve their roster and making the most of the wiggle room they do have, they have still kept a close eye on everything.

Obviously, they don't have anywhere near as much as the Chicago Bears but for a squad that has the talent they do, they are not drowning in debt by any means.

2023 will be a great year for them to see how their investments have paid off and how they should go about their business moving forward.
