Another Raven Leaving for AFC North Rival: Browns Agree to Terms with QB Tyler Huntley
The Baltimore Ravens have lost another player to an AFC North rival.
Per a report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with former Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley.
Baltimore has a logjam at quarterback right now with Lamar Jackson the incumbent starter, and Malik Cunningham and Josh Johnson already under contract to back him up.
Huntley was the odd man out.
The former Raven joins a quarterback room where he'll presumably backup Deshaun Watson, who holds an injury history that potentially requires a veteran backup for the team.
Last season, another former Ravens quarterback, Joe Flacco, joined the team late in the season as an injury replacement for Watson and backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson and let the Browns to the playoffs.
Huntley has spent the past four seasons with Baltimore, mostly serving as Jackson's backup, but he brings plenty of experience along the way.
In 2021, "Snoop," as he's sometimes called by teammates, threw for 1,081 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 64.9 percent of his throws in seven appearances and four starts.
He was also efficient on the ground with 294 yards on 47 carries and two more touchdowns.
The veteran even earned a Pro Bowl bid in 2022 after subbing for an injured Jackson during the end of the season, when he threw for 658 yards, two scores and three picks across six games and four starts.
He added 137 yards on the ground and another touchdown too.
