Steelers Add Two More Injuries From 49ers Game
PITTSBURGH -- Two more Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with injuries following the team's Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. According to All Steelers reporter Stephen Thompson, both offensive guard James Daniels and wide receiver Miles Boykin were seen in walking boots the day after the game.
While Daniels did not appear to have suffered an injury during the game, Boykin did. The veteran wide receiver limped off the field during the first half and was seen by trainers before returning to the game and finishing it. He was not mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin afterward for having sustained an injury.
As for Daniels, it's unknown when the injury occurred or how serious it is. The Steelers are already down offensive tackle Chuks Okorafor, who entered concussion protocol during the game. If he and Daniels are unable to go, Pittsburgh will turn to Broderick Jones at left tackle and move Dan Moore Jr. to the right side, and replace Daniels with Nate Herbig at guard.
The Steelers are still waiting on word about wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who suffered a hamstring injury, tight end Pat Freiermuth, who suffered a chest injury, and defensive tackle Cam Heyward, who left the game with a groin injury.
