Matthew Coller has been a Minnesota Vikings beat reporter since 2016. He moved from WGR550-AM radio in Buffalo to the Twin Cities to cover the Vikings for ESPN1500 and did written reports for 1500ESPN.com and hosted a daily radio show. In 2020, the station made changes and Matthew launched Purple Insider to continue covering the team for his newsletter and podcast. In 2022, he released the book "Football is a Numbers Game" about the rise in analytics in the NFL through the lens of Pro Football Focus. He appears on WCCO-AM radio in the Twin Cities and has written as a contributor for Sports Illustrated, Defector, the St. Paul Pioneer Press and other media outlets. His wife is the Minnesota Lynx play-by-play broadcaster and they live in Minneapolis with their dog Buddy the greyhound.
