Latest Georgia Football Recruiting Update, Who Could Be Next?

The latest update on Georgia football recruiting and who could potentially be the next commit for the Bulldogs.

Georgia football officially kicked off their 2023 campaign against the UT Martin Skyhawks this past weekend in dominant fashion as they took home their first win of the season by a score of 48-7. And while the primary task at hand for the program is to continue its success on the football field, the Bulldogs are always putting in work on the recruiting trail.

It has been a while since any major recruiting news has broken for Georgia. In fact, the last commitment the Bulldogs received for the 2024 recruiting class was running back Nate Frazier, who announced his commitment back on August 6th. Part of the reason for that is due to Georgia being pretty much done with this year's cycle, as they already have 26 total commits in the upcoming class. But there are still several prospects that remain on the board that Georgia is still chasing after.

Linebacker Chris Cole is one name that fans need to keep an eye on. He is set to make his announcement on September 10th, and the Bulldogs remain in a good position to land Cole. He is rated as a four-star, a top-ten player at his position, and the best player in the state of Virginia, according to 247 Composite Rankings.

Kamron Mikell is another in-state prospect that Georgia is in the mix for. The four-star athlete is a three-sport athlete and is rated as a top-25 player in the state of Georgia. He recently announced that he will be taking a visit to Colorado next weekend. He doesn't have a date set for his announcement yet, but the Bulldogs appear to be the team to beat in his recruitment.

LJ McCray and Aydin Breeland are two prominent defensive line prospects that head coach Kirby Smart and his staff would love to add to this year's list of commits. Both are players that Georgia will have to continue to work after if they want them to end up in Athens McCray has mentioned that he would like his recruitment to be over sometime in October. Breeland has not yet announced an official date, but a decision could very well be coming soon.

There is still quite a bit of time left before early national signing day rolls around in December, and Georgia will look to put on their finishing touches here in the next few months. It's been quiet as of late on the recruiting front for the Bulldogs, but that trend should end very soon, with several decisions looming on the horizon.
