The Alabama swimming and diving teams open the SEC Championships in College-Station, Texas, Tuesday morning.

The women are ranked No. 7 in the nation, and the men are at No. 16.

UA has 20 individuals and all relay teams ranked in the top-25 nationally.

“We’re hoping to fire on all cylinders,” Alabama second-year swim coach Margo Geer said. “We’ve got a strong group. We have a strong group of fifth-year seniors on the women’s side and some strong senior class for the men’s side. That’s really propelling us forward here.”

This is Geer’s second SEC Championships with Alabama. The Crimson Tide women took third and the men were fourth.

“There’s a lot packed into an SEC meet. There’s a lot of emotions,” Geer said.

Entering the meet, Alabama is seeded No. 1 in four different individual events. For the men, Charlie Hawke is tops in the 200 freestyle and two-time All-American Victor Johansson is No. 1 in the 1,650 freestyle. All-American Rhyan White (100 backstroke) and Avery Wiseman (200 breaststroke) lead the way for the UA women.

Alabama is also seeded No. 1 in the women's 200 and 400 medley relays, as well as the 200 freestyle relays.
