Alabama Outfielder Andrew Pinckney Named SEC Player of the Week

Alabama outfielder Andrew Pinckney was selected as the Southeastern Conference's Co-Player of the Week on Monday morning.
Pinckney hit three home runs during the weekend series at Texas A&M, where Alabama scored 28 runs, and won the final two games by a combined scored of 23-1. He had nine hits over the week, that also included the 7-2 win over Troy in Montgomery. Four went for extra bases.
Overall, he batted a team-best .474 with nine RBIs a stolen base, and a slugging percentage if 1.000. Pinckney also led the Crimson Tide with 19 total bases.
The redshirt junior drove in a career-high and team-best six RBIs in game two against Texas A&M with a pair of three-run home runs. He notched a solo home run on Sunday.
For the season, Pinckney is hitting .353 (67-for-190) in 52 games, and scored 47 runs. He has has 14 home runs, nine doubles and two triples, and 45 RBIs. His 122 total bases lead the Crimson Tide.
The award is Pinckney’s second in his career after receiving SEC Extra Position Player of the Week honors in February 2023. He shared this week's honor with Ross Lovich, who became the first Tiger to hit for the cycle during Missouri's SEC era. Lovich went 4-for-5, hitting for the cycle in just seven innings as part of Mizzou's series-opening 13-3 win over Georgia.

The Crimson Tide is 5-2 under interim head coach Jason Jackson.
Alabama (35-17, 13-14 SEC) will host Ole Miss beginning Thursday to wrap up the regular season. The Crimson Tide is one game behind Auburn in the SEC West and needs just one win during the weekend series to secure a spot in the SEC Tournament, which will be played May 23-28 at Hoover Met Stadium.
Hunter Hollan of Arkansas named the Pitcher of the Week, while Hunter Hollan of Arkansas and David Mershon of Mississippi State were named co-Freshman of the Week.
