It was a marathon of a day for Alabama Baseball.

The team showed up for an initial noon CT start. That was immediately decided against. Then, the team showed up to the park again — only to be told that the game wouldn't begin until at least 7 p.m. CT.

Finally, the grass was dried and the game was played. And it wasn't even much of a game.

The Crimson Tide smashed the Texas A&M Aggies 11-0 on Sunday night in College Station.

"I want to say a big 'thank you' to the Texas A&M grounds crew — those guys worked their tails off today to get the field ready," interim head coach Jason Jackson said. "I’m so proud of our guys, they stayed locked in all day. We got to the ballpark at 1 p.m. today and weren’t sure when we were going to be able to play. We came out and put up five runs in those first couple of innings and then obviously [Jacob McNairy] did his thing on the mound."

Alabama won the final two games of the series by a combined score of 23-1.

Tommy Seidl hit a grand slam. Andrew Pinckney hit another home run. It's becoming the new normal for the Crimson Tide — which has looked exceptionally locked-in since the firing of former head coach Brad Bohannon.

If Alabama has a good weekend next weekend, it will start moving its way into the contention for an NCAA Tournament host. The Crimson Tide finishes its season against the last-place Ole Miss Rebels.

With a sweep, Alabama would finish 16-14 in the SEC — its best season since 2009.

People are beginning to take notice. It's shaping up to be a fun late-spring for Alabama Baseball.
