• Montana Fouts, pitching for Team U.S.A. at the WBSC World Cup, entered in relief on Thursday and recorded the final six outs in a victory over Botswana. Fouts fanned all six batters.

Team USA was rained out on Friday but is set to play Great Britain on Saturday morning with a trip to the 2024 World Cup Finals at stake.

• 2024 four-star tight end Caleb Odom will make his college commitment today. Odom will commit via On3Sports's Youtube channel and is deciding between Alabama, Texas A&M, Miami and more at 6:30 p.m.

• The Crimson Tide has three alums competing in the Scottish Open but each are largely out of contention for the victory after concluding the third round.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

July 15, 1952: He didn’t play for Alabama, but Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver John Stallworth was born in Tuscaloosa.

July 15, 1972: Paul “Bear” Bryant and Georgia Tech athletic director Bobby Dodd announced that their teams will play annually from 1979-86. The two squads had not met since the annual series was terminated in 1964, but the two coaches had talked about renewing the series since becoming more amicable in 1970.

"I said, ‘Is AJ here?' She said, ‘Who?’ I said, ‘AJ McCarron.’ She said, ‘No, baby. He lives four houses down that way.'
