Live Updates: No. 12 Alabama Soccer vs. No. 3 North Carolina

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— In an era with no shortage of huge matches, Sunday's contest between No. 12 Alabama and No. 3 North Carolina just might be the biggest ever when it comes to the regular season.
The Crimson Tide has not lost a match at home since 2021. On Sunday, it stands across from another squad which made last season's College Cup, and is showing no signs of slowing down. Alabama (5-0-2) got back in the win column on Thursday in a sorely needed positive result. North Carolina sports an identical record but has wins over ranked SEC opposition in its last two.
On Thursday, the Crimson Tide got the best of Southern Miss in a 2-0 decision on the road. It snapped a streak of two consecutive draws against the Miami Hurricanes and in-state opponent Samford. During that stretch, Alabama failed to record a goal. The Tar Heels have scored five in the last two matchups. The Crimson Tide defends home field well, and that intangible will prove indispensable if it is to climb the rankings with a big win once more.
It doesn't get much bigger than this. Tuscaloosa hasn't seen many matches like this one. The Crimson Tide has proven able to rise to the challenge thus far. On the other hand, challenges rarely come in this form, especially in nonconference play. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT to wrap up the Tuscaloosa weekend in major sporting events.
