Live Updates: No. 24 Alabama Soccer vs. LSU

The Crimson Tide is back at home against LSU after a tough road loss last Sunday.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— For the first time in eight days, the No. 24 Alabama soccer team is back home.

The Crimson Tide's road woes persisted in a disappointing loss against Texas A&M on Oct. 8. The offense was unable to rally back from three Aggie goals and went on to drop the contest 3-1. Alabama (8-3-4) has yet to win a road game in conference play and sits at 2-3-1 in the league. On Friday, it will take on LSU within friendly confines in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama won the two teams' 2022 meeting by a commanding 5-0 margin. It was one of the strongest regular season showings for a Crimson Tide team that regularly scored at a high rate. Even while playing in Baton Rouge, the Tigers had no answer for one of the country's best offensive attacks.

This season's LSU team sits at an even 3-3 in SEC play, with wins over Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi State. In its last three matches, LSU has scored just once, leading to the lone win in that stretch against Tennessee. LSU is 2-1 against ranked opposition this fall, but on Friday night, it faces what has emerged as one of the more difficult home field advantages to conquer in the sport. There's a reason the Crimson Tide has not been bested at home since the 2021 season. There have been draws here and there, but no team has yet been able to win at the Alabama Soccer Stadium in 2023. The Tigers seek to be the first.
