Nate Oats will be completely revamping his staff this offseason as another assistant is leaving the Crimson Tide.

According to multiple reports, longtime Alabama basketball assistant coach and former player Antoine Pettway has earned his first head coaching job at Kennesaw State.

"This has been extremely emotional and exciting for my family, but I am so grateful to have the opportunity to lead this program and work with an amazing group of people at Kennesaw State University,"Pettway said in a press release. "Thank you to President Schwaig, Milton Overton, Tamica Smith Jones and the Board of Trustees for trusting me to lead this program. I am ready to get started and soar to new heights with the Owls.

"I cannot go without thanking the University of Alabama. The last 15 years in Tuscaloosa have molded me into the man I am today. Thank you to Coach Oats, Greg Byrne, President Bell and all the players I have coached and played with throughout my time with the Tide. Tuscaloosa will always hold a special place in my heart for helping me live out my dream of playing Division I basketball and coaching at the highest level."

Pettway has been on the Alabama basketball staff in some capacity since 2008. He was an assistant from 2008-2010 before serving as the director of operations from 2010-2013. He took back on an assistant coaching role in 2014 and has been one ever since.

The former Crimson Tide player worked under four different head coaches at Alabama: Mark Gottfried (his former head coach), Anthony Grant, Avery Johnson and Oats. He has been one of Alabama's primary recruiters, particularly around the southeast, bringing in some of the top talent in the region like Donta Hall, Collin Sexton, John Petty, Kira Lewis Jr., Herb Jones, JD Davison and Noah Clowney.

He played at Alabama from 2000-2004 and was part of the lone Elite Eight team in program history in 2004, plus the 2002 regular season SEC championship team.

Pettway joins Charlie Henry (Georgia Southern) and Bryan Hodgson (Arkansas State) to become the third and final Crimson Tide assistant coach to take a head coaching job. Both Henry and Hodgson accepted jobs while Alabama was still in the NCAA Tournament before the season ended in the Sweet 16.
