Just a Minute: Ten Alabama Players Invited to NFL Combine

In this story:
The NFL's season came to a close on Sunday with the Kansas City Chiefs claiming their second Super Bowl victory in a row. There's no time to celebrate and revel in what was the 2023 season as the 2024 NFL Draft is quickly approaching.
Step one in draft season has already taken place as the Senior Bowl was held in Mobile just 10 days ago, but step two begins on Tuesday as the NFL has sent its invitations for its annual scouting combine in Indianapolis.
The Alabama Crimson Tide only sent three players to Mobile for the Senior Bowl but should likely see more representatives at the combine in the final week of February.
10 former Alabama players were extended invitations to the NFL Combine.
- Running Back - Jase McClellan
- Wide Receiver - Jermaine Burton
- Offensive Line - JC Latham
- Defensive Line - Justin Eboigbe
- Edge - Chris Braswell
- Edge - Dallas Turner
- Cornerback - Terrion Arnold
- Cornerback - Kool-Aid McKinstry
- Safety - Jaylen Key
- Kicker - Will Reichard
The combine week begins on Monday, Feb. 26 and extends to the following Monday, March 4. The bulk of the event begins on Thursday, Feb. 29 as each position is assigned different days of the weekend to hold their on-field workouts.
While the event is largely performative it's often a great opportunity to meet with NFL teams and impress prospective employers with off-field acumen. The NFL organizations utilize the combine numbers in the drills as a way to categorize prospects or confirm what they've already seen on film.
However, arguably, the most important element of the week for the organizations involves the medical reports. Prospects are poked, prodded and examined by a team of doctors to give each team a full picture of a players health, or lack thereof.
