Former Alabama TE Commits to Texas

After a few days in the transfer portal, another Alabama skill player will be joining wide receiver Isaiah Bond at Texas.
Tight end Amari Niblack announced his commitment to the Longhorns on his personal social media Thursday night.
Last season for the Crimson Tide, Niblack had 20 catches for 327 yards and was tied for second on the team with four receiving touchdowns. He played in all 14 games for Alabama with four starts.
Ironically, Niblack's biggest game of the season came in Alabama's Week 2 loss to Texas when he had two catches for 49 yards, including a fourth-quarter touchdown that pulled Alabama within three points of the Longhorns.
Niblack joins Bond and linebacker Kendrick Blackshire as the third Alabama player this offseason to transfer to Texas and play for former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. Overall since Sarkisian became head coach of the Longhorns in 2021, there have been five Alabama players transfer to Texas including Agiye Hall and Jahleel Billingsley.
Alabama's top three receivers from the 2023 will now officially not be back next season with Jermaine Burton declaring for the NFL draft and Bond and Niblack transferring to Texas.
