Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer released a statement on Thursday in regard to the arrest of one of his players at his former school. Washington running back Tybo Rogers was arrested and charged with two counts of rape for an incident that occurred last season while DeBoer was the head coach of the Huskies.

"While I am not able to comment specifically on the situation involving an individual at my former institution because of federal privacy laws and the ongoing criminal matters, I do want to make it clear that I take any allegation of sexual misconduct very seriously," DeBoer said in the statement. "I always have and always will follow established institutional policies and procedures to ensure prompt reporting and proper handling of allegations by the appropriate authorities.”

Rogers was suspended one game for Washington after a Title IX complaint was filed on Nov. 29, but played in both of the Huskies' College Football Playoff matchups against Texas and Michigan. He was a freshman last season and had 40 carries for 184 yards.

DeBoer was named the head coach at Alabama on Jan. 12 and is currently in his final week of spring football with the Crimson Tide. He is scheduled to speak to the local media on Thursday afternoon ahead of Alabama's A-Day game this Saturday.
