The Alabama Crimson Tide football program is in the middle of hosting a huge recruiting weekend to kick off the spring break weekend. New Crimson Tide general manager Courtney Morgan declared that over 70 prospective recruits were in town to check out the football program and meet the new staff.

The weekend is already off to a successful start as the Crimson Tide secured a commitment from Zymear Smith according to On3 Sports.

Smith isn't registered with 247 Sports, but he's considered a 4-star prospect by On3, Rivals and ESPN. The athlete out of North Caroline High School in Denton, MD is listed at 6-foot, 170-pounds.

On3 considers Smith the No. 25 overall athlete and the No. 7 player in the state of Maryland in the Class of 2025.

Smith becomes the second running back commitment in the class, joining Anthony "Turbo" Rogers, but he may fit in at Alabama on defense. He makes four total commitments in the Class of 2025 as DeBoer is rebuilding the group after Saban's retirement sent it into chaos. Should he play defensive back he will join Myles Johnson and Antonio Coleman as the Crimson Tide's defensive members of the Class of 2025.

As a junior he took 80 carries for 670 yards and eight touchdowns with 12 receptions for 447 yards and four touchdowns. He appeared on defense as well and makes 22 tackles with three interceptions, taking one back for a score. He scored three more touchdowns as a punt returner, taking his junior year total to 15 total touchdowns.
