Recruiting Rundown: Alabama Football Enters Dead Period

The Alabama football coaches can finally catch their breath and return to Tuscaloosa to lay the foundation of the new program.

It was a successful National Signing Day for the Alabama Crimson Tide program as they inked three more members to its Class of 2024. On top of celebrating its No. 2 overall recruiting class the Alabama Crimson Tide coaches can get excited for a respite as the college football calendar enters a dead period.

The college football recruiting calendar is in a dead period from Feb. 5 until March 3, allowing new head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff an opportunity to spend time with the Alabama roster and get set for spring practice.

A third cause for celebration for DeBoer and his staff comes in the form of a closed transfer portal window as Friday marked the 30th day since head coach Nick Saban retired. The next time the transfer portal window opens, in April, Alabama will have an opportunity to add more talent to the roster. DeBoer and his staff appear to have at least three vacant scholarships to utilize ahead of the next season.
