FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Former Razorback defensive lineman, Jashaud Stewart has entered the transfer portal, per his post on X.

I’m thankful for all my former teammates and coaches who believed in me I really enjoyed the time and the experiences.I plan on entering the transfer portal to be able to finish my degree and make an impact on and off the field.

The Jonesboro native was arrested in December for a connection with residential burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. Stewart was then suspended indefinitely from the Razorbacks program and didn't rejoin when spring practice began three weeks ago.

Due to injuries, Stewart was limited to less than 100 snaps in six games during the 2023 season and recorded just eight tackles. After a 7-3 loss to Mississippi State, Stewart did not see the field again. Stewart had a solid 2022 campaign which saw him accumulate 14 tackles and two sacks.

Arkansas has now lost 22 total players off last seasons roster to the transfer portal with 18 of them being on scholarship. Stewart joins Anthony Booker and Taurean Carter as defensive linemen who have announced their departures from the Razorbacks.

With the return of All-SEC pick Landon Jackson and addition of FCS All-American Anton Juncaj, the Arkansas defensive end rotation was already expected to be a tight one even if Stewart returned. True freshmen Charlie Collins and Kavion Henderson are also thought to factor into rotational roles this fall.
