First Razorback Scholarship Player Arrives Under Calipari-Era

International freshman who played under Calipari at Kentucky becomes first to follow as a Razorback

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas basketball roster has a player. Zvonimir Ivisic has transfered to the Razorbacks, marking the first incoming transfer for the Hogs under new coach John Calipari, the 7-foot-2 center announced on X (formerly Twitter) Monday

Ivisic met with new Kentucky coach Mark Pope about potentially staying a Wildcat before ultimately deciding to follow Calipari to Arkansas.

A native of Vodice, Croatia, Ivisic played under Calipari last year at Kentucky appearing in just 15 games after initial questions about his eligibility after he played three seasons with a stipend for SC Derby of the Montenegrin Basketball League from 2020-2023. The NCAA finally granted his eligibility on Jan. 20, which Ivisic announced himself.

After being cleared to play, Ivisic averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds off the bench including a career-high 18 points against Alabama. He only played 2 minutes against Arkansas at Bud Walton on Jan. 27. When the two teams played again March 2 in Lexington, Ivisic scored 12 points on 3-for-4 shooting (6-for-7 from the free throw line) and a career-high nine rebounds.

Calipari now has one of his 13 scholarship roster spots filled after he inherited no players after all eligible scholarship players opted to not return.
