One of the biggest developments for Auburn this offseason was the departure of Allen Flanigan, a guard who spent four seasons with the Tigers.

Flanigan averaged 10.1 points, five rebounds and 1.5 assists per game last season. Additionally, he shot 44.2% from the field.

Ole Miss went through a significant transition this offseason as well with the change from Kermit Davis to Chris Beard as head coach. The roster changed a lot as well which tends to happen with a coaching change.

Flanigan elaborated on how it has been to play with the new team.

“It is definitely going to be a sight to see this year in Oxford," Flanigan said. "We feel very confident in ourselves to get the job done. Coach Beard believes in us too.”

Like he was able to do at Auburn, Flanigan will be playing for a coaching staff that his father, Wes, is a part of.

“It has been great for me," Flanigan said. "Getting closer to my father through the years. Him being there with me and going through what I go through. See the things I do and help me.”

Flanigan surprised a lot of people when he announced he would be transferring. He explained that he still has positive feelings for Auburn and simply wanted a change.

“I felt that I spent four years at Auburn and graduated there," Flanigan said. "I was an Auburn man, that is my alma mater. I felt like for my last season in college to try something new. You never know what road leads you in life. I just wanted a new home."

The Flanigans will make their return to Neville Arena on Jan. 20th.
