Arkansas fans obsessed with Hugh Freeze, Auburn Tigers

The Hogs are looking for any kind of advantage over the Tigers.

As SEC Media days came to a close this week, one thing is certain. Arkansas is obsessed with all things Auburn. After Hugh Freeze's presser Tuesday, All Hogs posted this tweet:

For the record, Hugh Freeze made no mention of Arkansas in his opening remarks and only mentioned them after being asked about whether or not he thought he'd ever coach in the SEC again after leaving Ole Miss. Freeze said at the time he left Oxford he didn't really think about that, but that as time passed and he began to have success at Liberty, "particularly with it just going FBS and us being able to beat the likes of Arkansas, BYU, Virginia Tech and Syracuse, playing close with every Power Five that we played, did the thought start creeping in your mind that certain opportunities might present themselves again? Yes, at that point. But not prior to that point did they enter my mind."

Arkansas was mentioned along with BYU and Virginia Tech because Liberty played all three last season, going 2-1 in those contests, including a 21-19 win over the Hogs in Fayetteville. Beating Arkansas was a big deal at Liberty, but it won't be at Auburn. Auburn is 19-12 overall verse the Hogs and 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.

The article implies that Freeze's past experience against the Hogs makes beating them extra special. At Ole Miss Freeze was 2-2 against Arkansas. Going .500 against an opponent is nothing to boast about, but this is coming from a program that handed out rings to their players for wining the Outback Bowl and Liberty Bowl. Arkansas fans might need to start beating Auburn and competing for championships a little more often, before they worry about what Hugh Freeze or Auburn fans think about them. Until that happens the Hogs will remain more similar to Ole Miss and Mississippi State on Auburn's schedule.
