How the 2024 class looks following last week's string of commitments

The 2024 football class has gained its star of the class in Walker White.

Auburn has begun the second month of the year on a hot streak in the 2024 recruiting class.

In the previous two recruiting cycles, Auburn only had one commitment in each cycle at this time of the year. The 2022 signing class had only four-star quarterback Holden Geriner, who signed with the Tigers later that cycle. The 2023 class had Bradyn Joiner, the offensive lineman from Auburn High who signed with the Tigers in the early signing period in December.

Auburn has had a revitalization in terms of recruiting with Hugh Freeze at the helm and the incredible recruiting and scouting staff that he and Athletic Director John Cohen have built.

This effort has turned into results early on for the 2024 class as they have three commitments whereas the previous staff struggled to get one.

Class Ranking:

The main recruiting ranking sites all have Auburn somewhere between the mid-teens and the upper-teens.

247 has Auburn as the 19th overall class and seventh in the SEC. They have an average player ranking of 91.62 which is a four-star.

Rivals has the Tigers at 17th overall with an average ranking of four stars, they put Auburn at sixth in the SEC.

Last but not least, On3 holds this class in higher regard than the other two sites as Auburn is 15th nationally. On3 has their average player rating at 90.77 and this puts them at seventh again in SEC rankings.

Commits:

Walker White, Four-star Quarterback: 6'3 215 lbs

White is a four-star on all of the main sites, including 247, On3, and Rivals.

He is considered by most the best quarterback in the state of Arkansas. You can see why as he has 48 touchdowns and 4,000 passing yards during his two years as a starter for Little Rock Christian. He also has gained over 1,200 yards rushing with 21 rushing touchdowns during this time. He committed to Auburn on Friday, February 3rd.

Jayden Lewis, Four-star Cornerback: 6'0 175 lbs

Lewis is a four-star on all sites.

Lewis is a rangy and fast cornerback who has a background in track. The Anniston native joined fellow DB and Alabamian, A'mon Lane, by committing to Auburn on the first of February.

A'mon Lane, Four-star Cornerback: 5'11 180 lbs

Lane rounds out this trio by also being a four-star on all the major recruiting sites.

The class is rounded out by the smaller, twitchy cornerback from Moody, AL. He was previously at Thompson but followed his coach and adoptive father, Jake Ganus to the Moody Blue Devils. Lane has immense speed and great ball skills that will make him a good prospect to watch rise in the rankings. Lane has been committed since last year's Big Cat Weekend.

Following Junior Day the Auburn Tigers football team has gained three commits, White, Lewis, and 2025 DL Malik Autry. The recruiting resurgence under Freeze should be a positive for Auburn fans and show that even though he never got Liberty in the top 30 of recruiting rankings, he still is capable of recruiting at his old SEC standards.
