The Auburn Tigers will be looking to replenish their roster through the transfer portal once again this offseason.

Hugh Freeze did a phenomenal job in the portal a season ago grabbing players at positions of dire need while also getting the Tigers their starting quarterback.

Right now Auburn needs help in pretty much the same places. Offensive line, receiver, and now defensive back becomes a big need for a secondary replacing a lot of pieces.

Here are five players currently in the transfer portal the Tigers could use in 2024.

OL Davion Carter (Memphis)

Carter is one of the best offensive guards in all of college football according to Pro Football Focus. He finished the 2023 season with an offensive PFF grade of 79.4, good for 11th nationally. Carter has a pass block grade of 87.2 in 522 passing snaps. Very, very impressive numbers for a Group of Five offensive lineman.

Per On3, Carter played high school football at Pearl (MS), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 70 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Before transferring to Memphis, Carter played his freshman season at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

WR Raymond Cottrell (Texas A&M)

A six-foot-three, 210-pound freshman receiver from A&M is a valuable commodity in the transfer portal.

Cottrell only recorded one catch in his first season in college - a 13-yard touchdown catch against ULM - but in his senior year of high school he hauled in 46 passes for 651 yards and touchdowns.

Per Andrew Ivins of 247Sports, the former four-star WR "spent much of junior season lined up on the outside, but was utilized here and there as a wildcat quarterback and ended up finishing the year with 1,428 yards of offense (985 receiving, 311 rushing, 132 passing) and 17 total touchdowns (eight receiving, seven rushing, two passing) to his credit."

He is currently the No. 2 receiver in the transfer portal.

OL Easton Kilty (North Dakota)

The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Kilty started every game at left tackle for the Fighting Hawks. The Stratford, Wis., native entered the year as an honorable mention preseason all-MVFC selection.

Kilty has received offers from Auburn, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, among others.

Auburn should be pursuing Kilty alongside a number of players as they begin to enter their names into the transfer portal in the coming weeks. The Tigers are expected to lose four offensive lineman to graduation this offseason, with more possibly leaving through the transfer portal.

QB Grayson McCall (Coastal Carolina)

McCall, a fifth-year senior quarterback for Coastal Carolina, entered the portal last off-season and was pursued heavily by Auburn. He decided to return to Coastal for another season, and now he's entered the portal again.

The Chanticleers QB has set records over his four years at the helm of the Coastal Carolina offense, throwing for over 10,000 yards with 88 touchdown passes to only eight interceptions, winning the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year award three straight seasons (2020-2022). He added 1,113 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground.

DB Upton Stout (Western Kentucky)

Western Kentucky's Upton Stout may end up being a hidden gem in this season's transfer portal cycle.

Stout played 12 games in two seasons at North Texas before transferring to Western Kentucky, where his numbers improved significantly. He has 114 career tackles, 2.5 TFL, 0,5 sacks, five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), 14 pass deflections and one forced fumble returned for a touchdown.

Pro Football Focus loved Stout this season, handing him a defense grade of 83.2, a coverage grade of 80.7, and a run defense grade of 82.5.

Although just five-foot-nine, Stout really came on the scene as one of the better defensive backs in the C-USA at WKU.
