A potential quarterback target for Auburn has entered the transfer portal.
Riley Leonard, the starting quarterback for the Duke Blue Devils, has entered the transfer portal, per On3.
The six-foot-four, 210-pound signal-caller has thrown for 4,450 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 27 career games with the Blue Devils. Leonard also racked up 1,224 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns.
He spent half of the 2023 season out with an injury after a stellar sophomore campaign (2,967 passing yards, 699 rushing yards, 33 total touchdowns).
Leonard's entry into the portal comes shortly after Coastal Carolina's Grayson McCall declared for the portal early Wednesday afternoon.
Per Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Leonard has entered the portal with a "do not contact" tag on his entry, indicating he has a good idea of where he wants to transfer.
Auburn will be looking for another QB through the portal this off-season regardless of what happens with the current room.
