The college basketball world was shocked yesterday when we found out Kentucky head basketball coach John Calipari would be heading to Arkansas to be the Razorback's next head coach.

Kentucky and Auburn are back and forth battling for some of the top basketball players in the 2025 class, including #1 overall recruit AJ Dybantsa. Other players like #3 overall recruit Caleb Wilson and #7 overall recruit Meleek Thomas are also players that these two programs are both after.

Hopefully, Calipari leaving for Arkansas will help Coach Bruce Pearl get a leg up on the recruiting trail. Now, Coach Calipari will still try and recruit these players to Arkansas more than likely, so it will still be a battle, but Calipari getting out of Lexington could help the Tigers on the recruiting trail.

The 2025 class could shape up to be Auburn's best of all time if they are able to bring in some of these top players in the class.

You could see Auburn have multiple McDonald's All-Americans this recruiting cycle, and it seems like the Tigers have a legit shot at landing the top overall player in the class.

It will be interesting to see who Kentucky will hire to take over for Calipari, but if the Wildcats could get a coach who can get the most out of all of the talent, that could be scary for the SEC.

The Auburn Tigers are going to have an elite 2025 recruiting class, and Coach Calipari leaving Kentucky could help be a reason why.
