New Auburn Running Back Offer Has ‘Blazing’ Speed

Auburn pursuing talented Mississippi running back

Auburn did not sign a running back in its 2024 recruiting class and is in the same situation for 2025, for now.

Last night, Hugh Freeze and the Tigers began to make an effort to change that with an offer to Tray Kinkle. He is a recruit with a lot of speed. How about sub-10.5 speed? In fact, Rion Young of 247 recently sent out a tweet mentioning 10.3 speed.

He’s from Holly Springs (Miss.) High School, in between Oxford – where Ole Miss is located – and Memphis. It’s a smaller school where Kinkle dominates like he should. So, who is Kinkle and what does he bring to the table?

Kinkle provides good vision to hit the hole and maneuvers well in tight spaces. His best asset is when he selects the go button and separates from defenders in a hurry. Whether it's a running play or Kinkle catching a pass, defenders struggle to bring him to the ground.

While running away from defenders for touchdowns, Kinkle is also running into scholarship offers.

Auburn, Florida, Jacksonville State, and Florida State all offered on Thursday. North Carolina State's offer would be from April 8. Ole Miss and Southern Miss are also offers for Kinkle.

He does not have a recruiting ranking by any of On3, Rivals, ESPN, or 247. Watching Kinkle’s highlight film is changing the opinion of college coaches and that’s soon going to bleed into the recruiting services as well.

Kinkle’s HUDL film is fun to watch. Auburn fans should get to know him. Watching Kinkle's film will explain to Tigers fans why Freeze and his staff want this young man to play for them in the SEC.
