REPORT: Auburn has reached out to Transfer Portal Running Back

The Auburn Tigers have reached out to a top running back in the transfer portal.

The Auburn Tigers appear to be interested in a running back in the transfer portal.

With the transfer portal window starting on Tuesday, several names have already entered and the Auburn Tigers are one of many schools who have reached out to a talented Ohio State running back.

According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden has heard from several schools since entering the transfer portal including the Auburn Tigers. Other schools include Colorado, Louisville, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech.

“One of the most talented players in the transfer portal, former Ohio State RB Dallan Hayden says ‘Colorado, UCLA, Louisville, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech’ are the programs he’s heard from so far," On3's Wiltfong said in a report.

Hayden played high school football in Tennessee and then committed to Ohio State. He was there for two seasons. His first year at Ohio State, Hyden carried the ball 111 times for 553 and five touchdowns on the ground. He appeared in 10 games. Last season, he had just 19 carries for 110 yards and one touchdown.

Ohio State has a loaded running back room. Auburn's depth in their running back room could impact the pursuit and recruitment of Hayden. It also could be a sign that Auburn's coaching staff could believe there's a chance that one of their backs could enter the transfer portal.

Auburn's stable of backs has a lot of upside with Jarquez Hunter, Damari Alston, Jeremiah Cobb, and Brian Battie in the room.

Auburn saw EDGE defender Brenton Williams enter the transfer portal Tuesday morning.
