It's an exciting time of the year for Auburn basketball fans as Coach Bruce Pearl is looking to add a few players to the roster for next year's team via the transfer portal.

Unfoutunalty to add players in the portal someone has to leave and the Tigers already lost guard KD Johnson to the portal.

This didn't come as much of a surprise as five-star McDonald's All-American Tahaad Pettiford will be coming in next season and will play the two.

Another Auburn Tiger just put his name in the portal as point guard Tre Donaldson decided he wanted a new college to call home.

This loss doesn't come as much of a surprise as many expected a point guard to leave, as Coach Pearl has been actively looking for point guards in the transfer portal.

Auburn recently had former Furman guard JP Pegues on campus for a visit, and he is a player who could fill the hole left by Donaldson if he does pick Auburn.

Donaldson averaged 6.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists on the season for Auburn while shooting 41.2% from beyond the three-point line.

He is a good basketball player who will make his next coach very happy with his ability to shoot the ball and create opportunities for his teammates.

Coach Pearl really wants some guards who can score the basketball better than we saw a year ago, and it looks like he will get that out of the portal.

Donaldson will look for a new home, and the Auburn Tigers will continue to look for a new point guard.
