New BC Women's Basketball Coach to Have Introductory Press Conference: The Rundown

On Tuesday afternoon, Boston College Athletics announced that it will host an introductory press conference for its new women’s basketball coach, Kate Popovec-Goss, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET.
The event will take place inside the Barber Room at the Yawkey Athletics Center, just like it did for Luke Murray, BC’s new head men’s basketball coach, who was introduced by the athletics department on Tuesday.
William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Blake James will make the initial remarks before an opening statement from Popovec-Goss, followed by a Q&A session for attending media.
"I am incredibly honored to be named the head coach at Boston College, one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, in one of the best cities in the nation"

Also similar to Murray’s introductory program, fans can find the press conference on ACC Network, including the Boston College Eagles YouTube channel.
Prior to her hiring by BC on March 27 — following the firing of former head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee on March 1 — Popovec-Goss spent the past four seasons at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
The former Northwestern and Pittsburgh women’s basketball player took the Braves from just a four-win squad in 2022-23 to a 20-win program in 2025-26, including a women’s NIT Tournament berth.
Before that, Popovec-Goss was the associate head coach and the recruiting coordinator for the Northwestern women’s basketball program. She also served in roles at Colgate and La Salle after receiving her master’s degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern in 2014.

The Rundown: Wednesday April 1, 2026:
- Luke Murray spoke on why he believes the direction of the Eagles' men's basketball program has to involve its alumni network.
“I want them to know that this is their program.”

To me, this was the most important segment of Luke Murray’s introduction.
He wants the alumni involved, because he’s seen the potential that @BCMBB has as a program.
He just wants to build that for the current players and fans. pic.twitter.com/VojN4bI5Y3
- BC baseball head coach Todd Interdonato had this to say about his players' reaction to finding out they would be nationally ranked following their series win over UVA this past weekend:

- Could BC men's hoops now be in the mix for a former Brooks High School (North Andover, Mass.) standout who impressed in March Madness this year for Furman? The transfer portal opens on Tuesday, April 7.
Keep an eye on Alex Wilkins as a potential option for Boston College. Local kid who embraces the underdog role, is fresh off a monster season and has tremendous upside. https://t.co/L88RCZgucF
